As a Sports Science graduate and former 110m hurdler, I’ve seen how embracing my melanin strength has contributed to my unique cultural identity and pride in my heritage as a black individual in Botswana.

You know, life hasn’t always been easy for me. I faced a setback when I got injured during my hurdling days. But I didn’t let that stop me. Instead, I dedicated my time to training students and other athletes, and I hustled to own my own piecing business, which supported me through university.
